Dear Parents,
We are all settling back into school after our Thanksgiving break and are counting down to finals week! The students are doing great and are soaking up the new material being presented.
Computer Applications
The Computer Applications just finished our Microsoft Word unit and started Microsoft Access today. They created many documents in Word before completing a unit test. I am pleased with the student progress and I know they are ready for the challenging Access unit.
Web Design I
The Web Design I class has been working in Photoshop for the last few weeks. They will start creating websites in Photoshop next week and I am planning on the students having their own websites ready to launch after Christmas.
Web Design II
The advanced web students are doing a great job at getting sports and teacher pages finished and uploaded for the school website. They have also been assigned news stories that will require them to cover more school events. We are trying to cover a wide variety of school events that include sports, clubs and classroom activities.
New Classroom Blog
I recently launched a classroom blog. I am planning on providing the classroom updates and more information in the blog. Check the blog for current classroom information and what your students are working on in the classroom.

- Mrs. Deanna Hume-Cheatwood
- I am an adjunct faculty member at Northern Arizona University and an educational consultant/administrator for High Desert Educational Consulting. Both my BA and MA are from Northern Arizona University in Career and Technical Education. My background is at the high school level as a business teacher. I taught: Beginning and Advanced Web Design, Interactive Multimedia and Computer Applications and was the website administrator for our school. I loved being in the classroom and working with my fellow teachers. My passion is adult education, which includes teaching at the post-secondary level and as an educational consultant. On a personal note, my husband is in the US Army and we have a one year old little girl named Betty. We are currently stationed at Fort Campbell, KY, but we are both originally from Arizona.
